Prebyterian Women:

The women of the First Presbyterian Church are united through being forgiven and freed by God in Jesus. They are committed to nurturing their faith through prayer and Bible study, supporting the mission of the church worldwide, working for justice and peace, and building an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnessing to the promise of God’s kingdom. All women of the church are members of the Presbyterian Women. All are welcome to participate in the circles and activities.

Presbyterian Men:

The men of the First Presbyterian Church join together in service to Jesus Christ through a variety of fellowship and service activities. All men are invited to participate in Presbyterian Men’s functions. Some of the opportunities are:

  • monthly prayer breakfast and presentation on the second Saturday of each month,
  • preparing and serving Easter Sonrise breakfast,
  • serving the women of the church at the Mother's Day banquet,
  • participating in the annual Men's Steak Fry.

Young at Heart

A Christian social group that meets monthly and is open to persons of all ages. The only requirement needed to be part of this fun group is to be young at heart. Some of the activities we have enjoyed are:

  • dining at various restaurants,
  • taking a cruise on the Goodtime III party boat in Cleveland, Ohio,
  • touring the home of President James Garfield in Mentor, Ohio,
  • visiting the flea market in Hartville, Ohio and dining at the Amish restaurant,
  • having games and/or dinner night at member's homes,
  • visiting the Western Reserve Museum,,
  • participating in a movie night (complete with popcorn and snacks),
  • visiting the Natural History Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, and
  • participating in a road rally.

Bible Study -

The First Presbyterian Church provides a variety of structured Bible study opportunities throughout the year. These meetings are scheduled weekly and include scripture reading and discussion. Video and audio presentations, presented by dynamic religious scholars, are also included in these study sessions. Contact the church office for specific dates and topics. Presbyterian Youth Fellowship (PYF) -

This group is designed to provide spiritual, social and service development for sixth- through twelfth-grade students. PYF meets weekly at 5:00 P.M. in the Christian Education Building. Highlights of the year include providing a summer vacation Bible school for Pre-K through fifth-grade children and participating in an annual youth mission trip. Presbyterian Youth Club (PYC) -

This is an after-school program that meets weekly from October through March each academic year. PYC activities include assisting students with homework or school projects, arts and crafts, and Bible Study. Snacks are also provided. Check the Schedule of Events page for upcoming events. Vacation Bible School -

This is an annual three-day in-depth exploration of stories from the Bible for Pre-K through sixth-grade students. In addition to adult leaders, seventh- through twelfth-grade students provide activities and act as helpers to the younger children. Check the Schedule of Events page for upcoming events. Children's Sermon -

The Children’s Sermon is a part of the Sunday service during which the pastor or volunteer members of the congregation help children bring into focus the worship message being delivered. The children are encouraged to interact with the not only with the leader and each other, but oftentimes with the members of the congregation as well. Props and other manipulatives are also used to underscore the message.

 

 

 

Children's Choir -

The Children’s Choir is an opportunity for kindergarten through sixth-grade children to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. This choir, led by skilled musicians, began activities in September 2004.
